Just Look Up

When all hope seems void and the light at the end of the tunnel seems dim, what can we do?

Sometimes we cry... and that's alright.

Sometimes we get angry... that's normal too.

Often times we pray... and that is good!

But sometimes we reach a point where all of those things and many more, have all felt exhausted. One might say, "I'm tired of crying..." or "I'm tired of being mad about this.."

One might even say they've grown tired of praying over and over again...

So what can we do when we've reached our limit? When we've exercised every other means of handling, coping with, or dealing with a situation??

Just look up.

I know it sounds overtly simple, but mom said this to me once. She explained to me that, as she was going through a tough time, the Holy Spirit reminded her to... just. look. up.

Not only does looking up take our view away from everything that is surrounding us, but it reminds us of just how small we are in relation to the entire world. Even more than that, looking up at the sky points our eyes toward God.

Today, His thrown is above us in Heaven. So when we gleem up at the sky (even with tears streaming down our cheeks), God sees our face and all that we are feeling. He sees right through to our hearts and sees all that we are offering when we say (symbolically by looking up), "Lord, there's nothing else I can feel or do... I relinquish all that I am to you".

Looking up can create a sense of peace in just remembering that one day, God's home will be with man and we will not have the anxieties and complexities of this world anymore.

Dear friends, with all that I am, I'm urging you to hold on. The body of Christ is true, and we will prevail. I experience rough times too where pleasantness just seems to evade me, but in the Lord's timing, our suffering will end, and peace will be all around us! We can do this through Christ's strength!

Just look up! 🙏🏽

While crying and anger are human responses to life's stresses, and looking up toward Heaven can provide a sense of calming peace, no matter how tired we might get in asking God for help, there still is no greater power that we possess than faith and prayer. So if you do feel like you have hit bottom and just need a hand to reach down and help lift you up...

Let's pray about it...
